Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an entry-level Radiology Support role to assist patients through exams, prepare rooms, and coordinate with physicians, radiologists, and technologists. The position emphasizes patient-facing service and efficient workflow in a busy imaging department.

The candidate should have a GED/HSED or high school diploma, strong communication skills, and basic computer proficiency. BLS may be preferred upon hire. No prior experience required.

Qualifications

• Competent in IV insertion and venipuncture.
• Excellent communication with patients, staff and physicians.
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
• Intermediate computer skills including email.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently or with technologists.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in preparation for exams and escort as needed.
• Use radiology computer systems to generate requisitions and check schedules.
• Organize and prepare exam rooms and maintain equipment.
• Greet patients and visitors, answer calls, schedule appointments.
• Act as liaison between ordering physician, radiologist, and technologist.
• Provide radiology reports or images and manage health records.
• Document observations and communicate needs to the health care team.
• Maintain imaging equipment and perform routine cleaning/sterilizing as required.
• Assist with MRI implant screening and documentation.
• Provide age-appropriate care following department policies.
