Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an entry-level Radiology Support role to assist patients before exams and help transport them through imaging procedures.

The ideal candidate will greet patients, manage schedules, and use radiology systems to access patient information while maintaining equipment and records in a fast-paced clinical environment. Prior healthcare exposure is helpful; BLS certification is required at hire.

Qualifications

• IV insertion and venipuncture capability.
• Excellent communication with patients, staff and physicians.
• Excellent customer service and strong organizational skills.
• Intermediate computer skills including email and standard software.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently or with technologists and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Assists patient in preparation for exam and transports patients between rooms.
• Uses radiology systems to generate requisitions, check schedules and obtain patient data.
• Prepares exam rooms, maintains supplies and cleans equipment as needed.
• Greets patients and responds to information requests; schedules appointments and takes messages.
• Acts as liaison between ordering physician, radiologist, and technologist.
• Provides radiology reports or images to staff and releases health information as required.
• Documents observations and communicates patient needs to the health care team.
• Maintains equipment and performs routine quality monitoring as needed.
• Assists with MRI implant screening and documentation as required.
• Provides age-appropriate care based on patient age and department policies.
