UPMC Hamot Imaging is seeking a Radiology Support Specialist to join our team in Erie. This full-time role supports patient flow and imaging operations, working closely with radiologists, technologists, nurses, and physicians to ensure exceptional patient care.

The position emphasizes multitasking, clerical duties, and accurate documentation to facilitate efficient imaging services across payor classes.

Qualifications

• High School graduate with two years of direct customer service experience.
• Data entry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephone calls, transfers calls, schedules patients and follows up on reports.
• Acts as liaison between Radiologists, Technologists and patients regarding wait times and exam status.
• Coordinates scheduling and patient charts for clinical screenings and biopsy workflows.
• Demonstrates commitment to Service Excellence by meeting patient and physician needs accurately and promptly.
• Ensures timely sending of teleradiology exams and monitors turnaround times.
• Coordinates after-hours coverage by paging clinical or technical staff to support emergencies.
• Retrieves, prints, and imports images and reports; registers patients and verifies insurance.
