Job summary

UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA, seeks an Imaging Services Tech Assistant to join our imaging team. This full-time role offers primarily evening hours with every other weekend rotation, providing hands-on experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

You will work alongside imaging professionals, gain exposure to various imaging modalities, and contribute to delivering high-quality patient care under supervision of a registered technologist.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Clerical and computer experience required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from unit as needed.
• Assist with IV catheter placement and follow GFR guidelines.
• Assist with MRI safety and blood draw/specimen transport as needed.
• Schedule exams in RIS; reschedule as needed and contact patients for additional scanning.
• Support technologist with patient care and workflow as instructed.
• Verify patient identity using two identifiers; provide pre/post education.
• Document history in electronic record and review physician orders.
