Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to arrange patient appointments, follow-ups and surgeries within the Radiology services. The role ensures testing and services are completed, financial clearance obtained, and clinicians alerted to results or non-compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience as a Procedure Scheduler.
• Ability to problem-solve and provide effective resolutions.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Familiar with medical terminology.
• Prefers knowledge of computerized appointment scheduling systems.
• Prefers radiology and image-guided procedure knowledge.
• Fire Life Safety Training within 30 days of hire (LA City only).

Responsibilities

• Analyze, plan, and prioritize workload to anticipate conflicts.
• Submit for approval and schedule biopsy requests.
• Coordinate nursing staff to ensure adequate resources and avoid conflicts.
• Schedule anesthesia for all cases as required.
• Schedule exams for Interventional procedures, Bronch Lab, and Gamma Knife.
• Verify insurance and authorizations with the Admitting Department.
• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in entering information into the computer system.
• Communicates all changes with patient and case information to all involved personnel.
• Adheres to protecting patient confidentiality.
• Works positively with colleagues to create an effective, efficient work place dedicated to customer service.
