Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a Radiology Clerk/Scheduling Coordinator to join our imaging services team. Under supervision, you will coordinate the scheduling of imaging procedures, gather documentation, and chart in the EMR to meet compliance requirements.

You will work with clinicians, handle registrations, manage communications with patients and referring offices, and support front desk and reception duties. Travel to other Imaging locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalence.
• Minimum of 2 years scheduling and/or registration experience or 4 years as Radiology Clerk.
• Computer scheduling, electronic health records systems, and/or MS Office Suite experience.
• Medical Terminology coursework (preferred).
• Associate or Bachelor Degree (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Schedule imaging procedures with referring physicians, offices, radiologists, and patients; gather and chart documentation in the EMR.
• Check pre-authorization status as appropriate.
• Maintain communications with patients and assist clinical staff.
• Document patient care activity in EMR and comply with regulatory standards.
• Travel to other imaging locations to cover Radiology Clerk duties at reception areas.
• Perform radiology front desk duties including check-in/registration and patient wayfinding.
