Job summary

Summit Health’s Imaging department seeks a PSR – Imaging Scheduler to greet patients, schedule radiology exams, and collect co-pays while coordinating with providers and staff. The role emphasizes accurate scheduling, insurance understanding, HIPAA compliance, and strong patient service in a fast-paced setting.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, 0–4 years of receptionist/scheduling experience, and familiarity with EHR/Practice Management systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0–4 years experience required; 1 year receptionist/scheduling experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Experience with EHR and Practice Management Systems preferred.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, customers and family in person and by phone in a courteous and timely manner.
• Ensures patient arrival according to schedule and updates patient arrival time when necessary.
• Proficient knowledge and understanding of insurance.
• Collection of patient co-pays and outstanding balances.
• Schedules and reschedules all radiology exams as requested and in accordance to department protocol.
• Observes strict confidentiality in all phases of operations according to HIPAA guidelines.
• Communicates proactively with provider offices, technologists, and leadership.
