The role emphasizes accurate scheduling, patient assistance, and collaboration with technologists and the billing office to ensure smooth patient flow and compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• High School graduate; BLS Certification; Knowledge of diagnoses and CPT codes for Ancillary services.
• Must have AAPC Certification or become certified within 1 year of hire.
• Experience with coding and billing for outpatient billing is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and schedule imaging exams.
• Assist in patient screening prior to examination.
• Assist with patient preparation and transport for imaging procedures.
• Review physician orders and ensure prior images are available for comparison.
• Process incoming images from other facilities for comparison.
• Document patient information for exam interpretation and care.
• Support schedulers, technologists, and coworkers in the department.
• Promote teamwork to meet department goals.
• Troubleshoot technical issues with vendors if needed.
• Adapt to additional responsibilities as the department grows.
