  • Performs other administrative tasks related to clinical services.
  • Assists MRI Technologists as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Details: Job Location: NEUROLOGICAL ASSOCIATES OF TUCSON PC - TUCSON, AZ 85718, Position Type: Full Time, General Summary:

A nonexempt position responsible for scheduling appointments for the imaging department and a variety of other office functions.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • 1. Accurately screens and schedules patients for Imaging Center with an interdisciplinary team focus.
  • 2. Greets patients on the phone and in-person in a warm, cheerful and professional manner.
  • 3. Answers phone in a timely, professional manner that meets department protocols.
  • 4. Obtains required information on patient’s insurance with focus on accuracy. Obtains insurance authorizations and schedules appointments. Verifies referrals match the physician orders.
  • 5. Checks EHR for accuracy. Obtains additional information as needed to process patient.
  • 6. Sends letters to patients with pertinent information when unable to contact patient by phone.
  • 7. Consistently performs administrative tasks related to clinical services.
  • 8. Assists MRI Techs as needed.
  • 9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).

Experience: Minimum one year of recent administrative medical experience or any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by the Imaging Supervisor and/or Human Resources.

Equipment Operated:

Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Work Environment: Position is in an office environment. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

Mental/Physical Requirements: Involves sitting approximately 80 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder with light lifting (10-30 lbs.) occasionally required.
