Job summary

Tufts Medicine in the United States is seeking an Imaging Reading Room Assistant to provide essential administrative and operational support within the Radiology Reading Room. You will coordinate with radiologists, physicians, residents, students, and staff to ensure efficient imaging workflows.

The role focuses on phone/communication tasks, issue resolution, and ensuring radiology orders are complete and aligned with clinical indications.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years experience supporting customers.
• Bachelors Degree preferred; hospital experience and medical terminology helpful; bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments, including follow-ups, tests, labs and surgical bookings.
• Assists with scheduling template creation and changes.
• Answers phones, triages calls, responds to patient requests and takes messages.
• Greets and checks-in patients; verifies demographic and insurance information.
• Assists with revenue cycle clearance, including registration accuracy and insurance verification.
• Collects copayments.
• Prepares medical records and loads information into the EMR system.
• Monitors patient flow and communicates delays to patients and providers.
• Assists with billing charge entry and reconciliation.
• Performs general clerical tasks: faxing, filing, mailing, ordering supplies, calendar management.
• Provides general clerical support to department physicians.
• Participates in performance improvement projects.
