Job summary

Ochsner Health in Mississippi seeks a Radiologic Technologist to assess patients and safely perform routine radiographic procedures in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and protocols. You will serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.

You will work with a comprehensive team, verify orders, communicate clearly with patients, and ensure diagnostic quality while adhering to regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT certification or registry eligible within 90 days of employment.
• Current unrestricted license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Operates radiographic equipment to complete imaging procedures per protocol.
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission for diagnostic quality.
• Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Assists in departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts behavior to the patient population and maintains privacy.
• Performs other related duties as required.
