Job summary

Ochsner Health in New Orleans seeks a Radiologic Technologist to assess patients and safely perform routine radiographic procedures in accordance with safety procedures and protocols. You will mentor junior staff and students while ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care.

Responsibilities include operating equipment, explaining procedures, and maintaining regulatory standards, with flexibility to work varied shifts and travel between facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT certification or registry-elig eligible within 90 days of employment and temporary state license.
• Current unrestricted license in the state of practice; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Operates imaging equipment according to protocol (may include NG tubes, IVs, urinary catheters, and contrast).
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission for diagnostic quality.
• Performs timely quality control procedures per regulatory standards.
• Assists in departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts communication and approach to diverse patient populations.
• Performs other related duties as required.
