Job summary

Intelas, a Compass Healthcare company, is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to maintain and repair imaging systems across hospitals. You will perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, safety inspections, and major repairs, while coordinating with manufacturers and teams to resolve issues and ensure uptime.

Ideal candidates bring an associates degree or military training plus 2+ years' radiology or biomedical experience, with strong communication and on-call availability.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Electronics/Imaging Technology or military training.
• Two+ years experience with imaging equipment manufacturers or related fields.
• Minimum two years in repair of radiology equipment and biomedical experience.
• Specialized knowledge in modalities such as radiology, MRI, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, CT, cath lab, linac, etc.
• Certification (CRES) in modalities preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills; on-call ability.
• Willing to serve as a technical resource to others in areas of specialty or certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventive maintenance, calibrations where certification may be required and electrical safety inspections on imaging equipment in compliance with standards.
• Perform major repairs by replacing defective components and readjust components to manufacturer specifications.
• Assist with diagnostic imaging cross training of BMET Technicians.
• Consult with manufacturers' representatives to resolve equipment issues.
• Provide emergency on-call responsibilities.
• Research and initiate orders for repair parts within budget.
• Document all asset-related actions per department practices.
