Job summary

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking an Imaging Coordinator to join the Imaging Team and provide patient-focused registration, pre-registration, and coordination for imaging procedures.

You will handle patient education on screening and procedures, manage ITS and PACs data, and support the clinical staff with timely communication of critical findings while maintaining privacy and professionalism.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• One year of prior clerical experience in a medical setting strongly preferred
• Knowledge of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent skills in interpersonal communication to ensure the ability to build relationships with physicians or their support staff
• Knowledge of insurer and payer processes
• CPR/BLS or obtained within the first ninety days of hire
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing required
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines required
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 codes and medical terminology preferred

Responsibilities

• Register and pre-register patients; prepare pre-registration packets.
• Call patients for preregistration notice; collect co-payments and account payments.
• Register patients and update medical records; enter/retrieve information from ITS and PACs.
• Prepare and present paperwork for imaging procedures.
• Educate patients on screening and procedures; monitor PACs for STAT reports and critical findings.
• Facilitate communication of important findings to clinicians and departments.
• Back up incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate person or department.
• Maintain confidentiality of patients, coworkers and Northwest Specialty Hospital.
