Job summary

Vicinity Energy in Baltimore, MD is seeking an IM&E Specialist to maintain instrumentation, controls, meters, electrical machinery, and related auxiliaries for cogeneration, chilled water, steam and hot water plants.

You will safely operate boilers and ancillary equipment, perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, testing, and updates to control systems, and support start-up teams on new installations.

Qualifications

• Technical or trade school degree in electronics, computer science, or equivalent industry training and experience.
• Minimum 4 years of progressive technician maintenance/repair experience in central plants or power generation.
• Ability to write logic using Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagrams for automation.
• Diagnose PLC issues and update control systems to minimize downtime.
• Experience documenting schematics, wiring diagrams, and programming logic.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe working conditions and comply with environmental regulations.
• Operate boilers and auxiliary equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Inspect, calibrate, and repair control systems and instruments (meters, transducers, valves).
• Install, program, and troubleshoot electronic instruments and sensors.
• Create and update drawings and diagrams for plant electrical and control systems.
• Provide technical support to start-up teams on new installations.
