Job summary

Jobless is seeking a Dedicated Aide to support students with disabilities in achieving IEP goals within the least restrictive environment. The role involves implementing strategies from IEPs, Behavior Intervention Plans, and Fade Plans while fostering independence and reducing reliance on one-to-one assistance.

Responsibilities include collaborating with teachers and case managers, documenting progress, and participating in team meetings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a teacher’s assistant preferred.
• Registered Behavior Technician or ParaPro certification is a plus.
• Previous Montessori experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to students with disabilities to help them progress towards their IEP goals and objectives.
• Implement strategies to promote independence and fading of support.
• Utilize techniques to promote independence and fading of support, such as observing before assisting, giving extra processing time, using least intrusive prompts, and praising independent attempts.
• Direct students to answer to the teacher to encourage teacher engagement.
• Collaborate with classroom guide and case manager to evaluate student progress.
• Communicate student progress and any concerns to the case manager and Campus Director of Special Education.
• Attend and contribute to team meetings to facilitate and support the fading process.
• Adhere to policies and procedures for the timely implementation of Dedicated Aide support.
• Understand and utilize forms such as the IEP Goals Charting, Task Analysis Behavioral Data, Review of Behavioral Intervention Plan, and Dedicated Aide Fade Plan.
• Supervise student(s) to ensure safety during transitions and activities.
• Record and consistently communicate about students’ development outside of the classroom.
• Participate in mandatory school events and staff meetings.
• Read organizational communications and respond as needed.
