Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education from a regionally accredited college or university required.
• Three (3) years experience as a general educator, special educator or related service provider (SLP, OT, PT) required.
• One (1) year experience with virtual learning technology, remote instruction platforms, LMS, and video conferencing tools, if assigned to Virtual Academy required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates IEP Team meetings including annual reviews and reevaluations.
• Facilitates IEP meetings ensuring equal participation of all members.
• Organizes IEP process in compliance with federal/state regulations; supports development/review of IEPs and related documents.
• Collaborates with staff to maintain data accuracy in the online student management system.
• Facilitates collaboration with IEP team members to develop appropriate IEPs.
• Consults with specialists and staff to meet needs of children and families.
• Provides training to staff and parents on IEP process and AACPS procedures.
• Assists central office staff with compliance tasks (disputes, assessments, audits).
• Coordinates compliance review activities as part of system audits or school reviews.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
