Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) seeks a Teacher: Special Education to provide direct and indirect instruction to students with disabilities, in-class or through virtual programs. The role includes collaboration with IEP teams and a focus on delivering services in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).

Bilingual/biliterate requirements may apply for certain assignments; travel to Maryland sites may be required.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field required.
• One year of experience with virtual learning technology, remote instruction platforms, LMS, and video conferencing tools if assigned to Virtual Academy.
• Knowledge of current trends and regulations in special education and ability to apply in practice.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse communities and engage parents/guardians in the child’s education.

Aufgaben

• Develops lesson plans and provides individualized and group instruction per IEP in-class or virtual programs.
• Assesses student progress using tests, measurements and observations; provides progress reports.
• Supports planning and implementation of IEPs and access to the general education curriculum.
• Leads teacher assistants/ParaEducators and coordinates with general education staff.
• Maintains accurate records and communicates progress with parents via conferences and meetings.
