Job summary

Affirm, Inc. in Boulder, CO is seeking a hands-on, mid-level backend engineer to join the Information Security team. You will build and maintain backend services powering registration, login, authorization, and account lifecycle for B2C and B2B.

You will work with Python or Kotlin, assist with CIAM capabilities, security fundamentals, and deploy to production with the team. Remote-friendly, competitive compensation, equity and health benefits.

Qualifications

• Write, test, and debug software in Python or Kotlin.
• Foundational backend development basics: APIs, data structures, databases, version control.
• Interest in authentication and CIAM platforms, secure development practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship customer-facing authentication features (login, MFA, device binding).
• Develop backend services and APIs in Python or Kotlin for secure account access.
• Integrate with identity technologies like Okta, Auth0, ForgeRock for web, mobile, and partner apps.
• Contribute to design, write clean code and tests, code reviews, and production deployment.
• Debug services, improve reliability, and use logs/metrics to monitor production behavior.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and security teams to grow secure software skills.
