Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer to build and maintain backend services powering registration, login, authorization, and account lifecycle across B2C and B2B experiences.

You’ll work with Python or Kotlin, connecting identity capabilities to web, mobile, and partner apps with Okta/Auth0/ForgeRock integrations. You’ll participate in design, write tests, review code, and deploy to production, while improving reliability through debugging and metrics.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python or Kotlin with ability to write, test, and debug software.
• Strong backend fundamentals: APIs, data structures, databases, and version control.
• Interest in CIAM/security; prior identity platform experience is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship customer-facing authentication features with mentorship from experienced engineers.
• Develop backend services and APIs in Python or Kotlin for secure account access.
• Integrate identity tech (Okta/Auth0/ForgeRock) with web, mobile, and partner apps.
• Contribute to design, write readable code and tests, perform code reviews, and deploy to production.
