Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is seeking a hands-on mid‑engineering backend role in Information Security to power registration, login, authorization, and account lifecycles across B2C and B2B experiences.

You’ll build customer authentication features, integrate with Okta/Auth0/ForgeRock, and ship reliable services with strong security fundamentals. You’ll work with experienced engineers, mentor others, and contribute to design, testing, and production deployments while improving reliability through logs and

• Proficient in Python or Kotlin with backend API development experience.
• Strong understanding of APIs, data structures, databases and version control.
• Interest in CIAM, identity protocols, and secure, reliable customer experiences.
• Willingness to learn through mentorship, code reviews, and collaboration.
• Clear communication with engineering, product, and security teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship authentication features, including MFA and device binding.
• Develop backend services and APIs powering registration, login, and account lifecycle.
• Integrate identity platforms like Okta, Auth0, ForgeRock with apps.
• Write tests, review code, and deploy to production with team support.
• Debug, improve reliability, and analyze logs and metrics for production behavior.
• Collaborate with partners to grow secure CIAM capabilities.
