Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is seeking a hands-on backend engineer focused on customer identity and authentication.

You will build services powering registration, login, MFA, and account lifecycle for both B2C and B2B experiences, with a strong emphasis on security, reliability, and scalability. You will develop APIs in Python or Kotlin, work with Okta/Auth0/ForgeRock integrations, and collaborate with product teams to deliver features end-to-end.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to write, test, and debug software in Python or Kotlin.
• Foundational backend development knowledge: APIs, data structures, databases, version control.
• Interest in CIAM security and authentication patterns.
• Strong communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship authentication features including MFA and device binding.
• Develop backend services and APIs in Python or Kotlin.
• Integrate with identity technologies like Okta, Auth0, ForgeRock.
• Participate in SDLC: design, code reviews, tests, production deployment.
• Debug, improve reliability, use logs and metrics.
