Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is seeking a hands-on mid-level engineer in Information Security to help build backend authentication services powering registration, login, and account lifecycle for B2C and B2B experiences.

You will write Python or Kotlin, work with Okta, Auth0, and ForgeRock, and participate in design reviews, testing, and production deployments while upholding strong security, reliability, and operational standards.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python or Kotlin with ability to test and debug.
• Foundational backend skills: APIs, data structures, databases, version control.
• Interest in authentication security and CIAM concepts.
• Strong problem-solving and willingness to learn via mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship customer-facing authentication features with MFA and device binding.
• Develop backend services and APIs in Python or Kotlin.
• Integrate with identity platforms like Okta, Auth0, ForgeRock.
• Follow SDLC: design, code, tests, reviews, and production deployment.
• Debug services, improve reliability, and monitor via logs and metrics.
• Collaborate with teams and practice secure development.
