Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Unit Clerk/Nurse Aide for the 2 N Intensive Care Unit. Under RN supervision, you will perform receptionist and secretarial duties, assist with patient care, and help maintain a safe, private, and comfortable environment for patients and families.

This role requires HIPAA-aware conduct and teamwork with nursing staff. Requires High School diploma, Nurse Aide training or equivalent experience, BLS certification, and basic computer/data entry skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Nurse Aide training program completed or in progress, or 6 months Nursing Assistant experience in healthcare.
• BLS Certification is required.
• Knowledge of keyboard/computer and data entry.
• Medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Performs purposeful hourly rounding including: Pain, Position, Personal needs, and Possessions.
• Promptly answers telephone/call lights in a polite manner and relays pertinent information to appropriate staff.
• Assists nursing staff with patient care: making beds, giving baths, providing meals, oral care, intake & output, mobilization/ambulation, vitals, bedside glucose testing, and other tasks as assigned by RN.
