Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a dedicated Unit Clerk/Nursing Assistant for the 2 E Telemetry unit on days, 6:30 am to 7:00 pm, full-time. You will perform receptionist and secretarial duties, support nursing staff, protect patient privacy, and maintain a safe, clean environment on the unit.

Under RN supervision, you will handle communications with patients, families, and staff, perform basic patient-care tasks, and ensure accurate documentation and privacy while upholding patient rights.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a Nurse Aide training program, or 6 months experience as a Nursing Assistant in a healthcare facility, or completion of fundamentals if enrolled in an Accredited School of Nursing program.
• BLS Certification.
• Knowledge of keyboard/computer.
• Medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Performs purposeful hourly rounding including: Pain, Position, Personal needs, and Possessions.
• Promptly answers telephone/call lights in a polite manner and relays pertinent information to the appropriate staff.
• Assists nursing staff with patient care by making beds, giving baths, passing waters, feeding patients and recording vitals.
