Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet is seeking an Internal Registry Registered Nurse (RN) for ICU. This PRN night shift assignment spans approximately 12 weeks, with ongoing evaluation based on operational needs.

The RN will provide direct patient care using the nursing process, coordinate care with physicians, and mentor staff while maintaining patient privacy and high standards of care in the ICU.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS certificate upon hire and maintained.
• Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum of one year as staff RN in acute care hospital; CCU/ICU preferred.
• CCRN certification preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process in the ICU.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicate with physician about changes in patient condition and test results.
• Respond quickly to changes in condition and maintain patient privacy.
