Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet seeks an Internal Registry Registered Nurse (RN) for ICU care on a PRN basis. The role involves direct patient care using the nursing process, collaboration with physicians, and guiding patient and family education in the ICU.

Responsibilities include monitoring hemodynamics, interpreting diagnostic results, and maintaining patient privacy. Nurse must hold a valid Illinois RN license, BLS, ACLS, and meet critical care requirements; ICU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certificate required upon hire and maintained.
• Critical Care Course completion preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital; critical care preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process in the ICU.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Be directly responsible and accountable for care of assigned patients.
• Communicate with the physician about changes in patient condition and test results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and responses to treatment.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
