Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet is seeking an Internal Registry Registered Nurse (RN) for ICU, working nights on a 12-week assignment. The RN must hold a state license and be able to perform under the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

PRN status allows flexible scheduling within a critical care setting. The role requires BLS and ACLS on hire, with CCU/critical care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within ICU scope and guide patient/family teaching.
• Communicate changes in patient condition with physicians and monitor hemodynamics and diagnostics.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
