Job summary

Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, IL is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our 18-bed unit. This full-time night shift 7pm–7am offers ACLS and BLS requirements, supportive intensivists on site 24/7, and a comprehensive benefits package.

You will provide high-quality critical care, coordinate with a multidisciplinary team, document accurately, and participate in professional development while adhering to safety and ethics standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice.
• ACLS and BLS required; telehealth considerations noted in policy.
• Typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• BSN preferred when available.

Responsibilities

• Engages in governance, quality initiatives, and evidence-based care.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the team.
• Maintains a culture of safety and accurate EHR documentation.
• Participates in professional development and keeps certifications current.
• May float to other units as needed to meet patient care needs.
• Delivers patient- and family-centered care across age groups.
