Job summary

Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the ICU. The role offers 7pm to 7am shifts, a full-time schedule, and 18-bed ICU with intensivists on site 24/7.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state where services are provided.
• ACLS certification required.
• Typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care, coordinating with patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team to influence outcomes.
• Upholds a culture of safety and ensures patient safety.
• Maintains accurate, timely electronic health record documentation.
• May administer medications and therapies per clinical protocols.
• Communicates effectively, provides feedback, and delegates appropriately.
• Pursues professional development and maintains required certifications.
• May float to other units as needed within the service area.
