Job summary

Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the ICU. The role covers 7pm–7am in a full-time 18-bed unit with intensivists on site 24/7 and a strong focus on evidence-based practice, safety, and collaborative care.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, and critical decision-making, with professional development and adherence to ANA ethics. ACLS and BLS are required, and a competitive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in the state.
• ACLS and BLS required for ICU care.
• Typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience in ICU or acute care.

Responsibilities

• Engage in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Monitor patient conditions and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Promote a culture of safety and effective team collaboration.
• Maintain accurate EHR documentation and participate in continuous education.
