Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to deliver high-quality respiratory care in a busy hospital setting. You will perform ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and airway support, with emphasis on assessment, planning, and documentation of patient care.

Responsibilities include critical care procedures, collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and potential Lead RCP duties during shifts.

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or will obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire and maintain current.
• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire and maintain current.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification upon hire and maintain current or within 60 days of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician.
• Focus on assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care including age-specific needs.
• In absence of a supervisor, Lead RCP responsibilities may be assigned during shift.
• Provide critical care, ICU exposure, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Participate in leadership and autonomy opportunities and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
