Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a patient care assistant to support daily living activities for patients under RN/LPN supervision. You will assist with bathing, grooming, mobility, feeding and hygiene while maintaining safety protocols and documenting vital signs.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of a PCT or CNA program, and possibly phlebotomy/EKG certification. Be part of a team dedicated to Be Well and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting, mobility and transportation.
• Maintain standard precautions and care of patients in isolation.
• Perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified.
• Take and document vital signs and point-of-care tests.
• Communicate patient status changes to RN/LPN and respond appropriately.
• Reinforce education for patient and family on care needs and safety.
• Support patient satisfaction initiatives and participate in quality improvement.
• Assist in orientation of new hires.
