Job summary

Mercy Health in Ohio is seeking a Nursing Education Specialist to lead the implementation and evaluation of education plans derived from annual needs assessments, guiding collaborative efforts with market and system nursing leaders to align programs with patient care goals.

The role supports evidence-based practice, nursing research, and professional development, including orientation, RN residency, and preceptor programs, while ensuring compliance, quality metrics, and Magnet/Pathways

Qualifications

• RN with a 4-year nursing degree is required.
• Graduate degree (MSN) preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office and clinical information systems.
• Knowledge of Nursing Professional Development Practice Model and adult learning concepts.

Responsibilities

• Implement system nursing education and professional development programs across departments.
• Support orientation, RN Residency, and preceptor programs.
• Apply nursing process and adult learning principles to educational programs.
• Monitor and report performance on programs and initiatives.
• Collaborate with leadership and clinical stakeholders to meet educational needs.
• Adhere to organization standards and regulatory requirements.
