Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet in Joliet, IL is seeking an Internal Registry Registered Nurse (RN) for ICU coverage on a Nights shift. This 12-week assignment offers a competitive hourly rate of $57.50, with potential ongoing staffing adjustments based on needs.

Responsibilities include direct patient care and guiding nursing staff and family education. The role requires an active state RN license, BLS, ACLS, and critical care competencies, with CCU/ICU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certification at hire and maintained.
• Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum one year as staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process in the ICU.
• Provide direct patient care within scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition, including hemodynamic monitoring and diagnostic results.
• Respond quickly to changes in condition and maintain patient privacy.
