Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a patient care assistant for the ICU/Night shift. The role supports RNs in daily patient care, including hygiene, feeding, and mobility, while documenting vitals in the EMR and assisting with admissions and discharges.

Qualified candidates will have a GED/HSED or high school diploma, and a BLS certificate with Nurse Aide in good standing. The position requires lifting and weekend/holiday rotas.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers within 45 days.
• Nurse Aide in good standing with State Registry.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, hygiene, feeding and ambulation.
• Document vitals and patient data in EMR.
• Support admissions, transfers and discharges under RN supervision.
• Perform patient positioning and transporting duties with proper technique.
• Assist with dietary needs and skin care; manage supplies and equipment.
• Coordinate tests and treatments across departments and maintain records.
• Maintain communication with health care team via phone, paging, and hospital system.
• Ensure patient safety and age-appropriate care standards.
