Job summary

Massachusetts Health & Hospital Association is seeking an ICU - Intensive Care Unit Charge Nurse (RN) to lead a 12-bed Medical ICU on night shifts, coordinating patient care, supervising staff, and ensuring safe, high-quality outcomes.

You will assess, plan, and evaluate patient needs with the interprofessional team, develop complex care plans, champion evidence-based practice, mentor others, and advocate for patient and family experience improvements.

Qualifications

• RN license required with 2-5 years of nursing experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise patient care activities, ensuring safe and effective delivery of care.
• Assess, plan, and evaluate patient needs, developing complex individualized care plans in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patients, and families.
• Lead initiatives to improve patient outcomes, satisfaction, and quality of care by identifying and addressing gaps in practice standards.
• Utilize evidence-based practices, promote professional development, and support practice changes based on current research.
• Act as a clinical resource for nursing and support staff, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Participate in evaluating patient and family experience, advocating for continuous improvement.
