Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time nursing assistant for the Navicent Health Medical Center - Critical Care: ICU Neurology unit. The role involves 24 hours per week with a 7P-7A night shift, providing direct patient care under unit standards, including personal care, monitoring, and documentation.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with preferred CNA/BLS/CPI certifications and one year of patient care experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate with patients, staff, and coworkers.
• Experience taking care of patients preferred.
• Certification in BLS and CPI is beneficial; CNA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in the physical care of the patient according to unit standards.
• Performs patient care tasks such as bathing, hygiene, linen changes, and positioning.
• Monitors vital signs and documentation; assists with pre/post-op care and transfers.
• Assists with admissions, discharges, and transfers according to unit policies.
• Maintains safety, confidentiality, and infection control standards.
• Supports unit operations and supplies management.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and unit meetings.
