Job summary

Heywood Healthcare is seeking a Critical Care Tech to support patient care delivery, perform delegated nursing duties, environmental services, and food service tasks. The role may require floating to other units based on census and patient needs.

The position emphasizes teamwork with nurses and clinicians, ensuring accurate documentation, timely vital signs recording, and safe patient handling. Shifts include days/evenings, with 7:00am–7:30pm scheduling and weekend/holiday rotations.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• ICU or ED experience strongly preferred.
• AHA BLS Certification required or obtained within 60 days of hire.
• CNA/Paramedic/EMT preferred.
• Acquired Critical Care Technician (CCT) competency demonstrated with Heywood Healthcare for 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Provides clerical support to clinical staff and maintains patient care records.
• Under nurse direction, coordinates outside services, transfers and ambulance arrangements.
• Prioritizes tasks and adapts to changing workload while maintaining patient safety.
• Maintains clean and safe work environment and removes safety hazards.
• Transcribes physicians' orders accurately and enters into Meditech OA module where used.
