UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC, seeks a Per Diem Clinical Support Technician I for the Medical ICU. The role combines nursing assistant and health unit coordinator duties, on a 30-bed critical care unit, with opportunities to develop oncology critical-care subspecialty skills.

Responsibilities include assisting caregivers, handling clerical tasks, transporting patients, and providing direct patient care per plan of care. Strong teamwork and adaptability are essential.

Competenze

• Must be fluent in verbal and written English.
• High school diploma or GED required; higher-level degree may satisfy this requirement.

Mansioni

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procure equipment and supplies.
• Critically review patient care documentation and report significant changes to RN or physician.
• Perform clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, review and transcribe orders, maintain medical records, and support PI audits and data entry.
• Provide clinical support: clean work areas, maintain equipment, troubleshoot software/hardware, change linens, check and restock supplies, transport patients and specimens, and orient new staff.
• Provide direct personal patient care per care plan activities; record vitals and measurements; may collect specimens and assist with basic wound care and hygiene.
• Reinforce patient teaching and distribute education materials as requested.
