UNC Health is seeking a Clinical Support Technician for the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) in Chapel Hill. The role combines Nursing Assistant and Health Unit Coordinator duties in a 36-hour work week with rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include assisting with exams, maintaining documentation, clerical support, patient transport, and direct personal care. Eligible for Nursing Support Incentive Program of $5,000 over three years.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Licensed Nursing Assistant I in NC is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• No prior experience is required.
• Fluent in English (verbal and written).
• Basic computer skills encouraged.

Responsabilidades

• Assist physicians and healthcare providers with routine exams and procedures and procurement of equipment and supplies.
• Review patient care documentation and report significant changes to nurse or physician.
• Perform clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, research information, review and revise orders, answer calls, and maintain medical records.
• Provide clinical support: clean work areas, maintain equipment, troubleshoot software/hardware, change linens, restock supplies, transport patients and specimens, orient new staff.
• Provide direct patient care per plan of care: bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation; measure vitals, height/weight; may collect specimens and perform basic care.
• Reinforce patient teaching and distribute education materials.
