Job summary

UNC Health Caldwell ICU is seeking a Nursing Assistant I to support patient care on 4 West ICU. You will assist nurses, transport patients and equipment, prepare rooms, and perform clerical tasks to keep the unit running smoothly.

Responsibilities include greeting visitors, transcribing orders, monitoring vital signs, and upholding safety and quality standards. This per diem role offers flexible scheduling and opportunities to grow with tuition reimbursement and a clinical ladder pathway.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in verbal and written English language.
• Capability to develop computer skills if not competent.
• Prior experience not required.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipment and supplies.
• Critically reviews patient care documentation making note of any significant changes in the patient's condition and report to a nurse or physician.
• Provides clerical tasks including organizing workload, greeting visitors, transcribing orders, maintaining medical records, and conducting quality audits.
• Provides clinical support including cleaning areas, stocking supplies, transporting patients and equipment, and assisting in orientation of new staff and students.
• Provides direct patient care such as assisting with bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation, recording vital signs, and specimen collection as needed.
• Reinforces patient education and distributes materials to patients as requested.
