Job summary

UNC Health Caldwell Memorial ICU in Lenoir, NC is seeking a Per Diem Nursing Assistant I to support bedside care and unit operations. You will assist with patient care, transport, and clerical tasks under the supervision of licensed staff.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in verbal and written English and able to communicate with patients and staff.
• Strong computer skills for documentation and orders.
• Demonstrates reliability and teamwork in a fast-paced ICU setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and health care providers with routine examinations and procedures and procure equipment and supplies.
• Review patient care documentation and report significant changes to nurses or physicians.
• Perform clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, transcribe orders, and maintain medical records.
• Provide clinical support: clean work area, troubleshoot equipment, transport patients and supplies.
• Provide direct personal care: bathing, feeding, ambulation assistance, vital signs, height/weight.
• Reinforce patient education and distribute educational materials.
