Job summary

Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Certified Patient Care Assistant to join our surgical ICU unit. The CPCA will support high-acuity patients and work closely with registered nurses to deliver quality care using advanced procedures and equipment.

Qualifications

• Licensed CNA/LNA preferred or required, as indicated in benefits.
• Experience in ICU or high-acuity care desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility; support nutrition and hygiene.
• Collect patient specimens and vital signs; document data per unit policy.
• Recognize health status changes and communicate to licensed staff; ensure continuity of care.
• Perform procedures and use equipment per license and scope of practice; assist with blood draws, Foley catheter removal, EKGs.
• Handle receptionist/clerical duties to support department operations and communication.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure charts are filed; manage admission/transfer/discharge details.
• Monitor and manage supplies; assist with equipment like patient ID scanners and laptops.
• Support patient transport pre/post-operative movements and OR turnover.
• Work under supervision in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on customer service.
