Banner Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit in Phoenix, AZ. This full-time day shift (7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.) role involves direct patient care, data collection, and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team in a high-acuity CVICU setting.

Eligible licensed CNAs/LNAs may receive a $3,000 sign-on bonus. The unit supports advanced cardiothoracic procedures; evening and weekend coverage is available with differential pay.

Competenze

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Current CNA license in state of practice is required for new hires and transfers.
• In Tucson: Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in state of practice is required for new hires.
• Requires skills and abilities typically attained with 1 year of medical clerical experience; preferably in a hospital or physician office setting, or prior experience in customer service.
• Must possess excellent organizational skills, as well as effective human relations and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy and keyboarding skills is required.
• Depending on department assignment, receive a minimum passing score of 85% on ECG or EEG test with accurate identification of all lethal cardiac dysrhythmias and epileptiform activity is required.
• Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, and BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.
• An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire.
• Employees working for Banner Home Care AZ must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.

• Provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care.
• Collects patient data including vital signs and input/output as delegated.
• Recognizes and reports abnormalities and/or changes in patient health status to a licensed professional.
• Performs procedures and uses equipment as delegated by a licensed professional.
• Performs receptionist/clerical duties to support overall operating efficiency and communication.
• Maintains complete patient records and proper charting.
• Manages supplies and medical equipment and tracks usage.
• May assist with transporting patients and OR room turnover.
• Works under supervision with a focus on customer service.
