Job summary

Gallagher Ice Rink at Gallagher Way is seeking an Operations Manager to lead event operations for the ice arena in Chicago. This seasonal full-time role requires directing front-line staff, coordinating event logistics, and ensuring safety and efficiency during live events.

The successful candidate will manage staffing, budgets, and vendor contracts while collaborating with other departments to maximize revenue and customer satisfaction. On-site presence is required at events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in management, sports management, business or related field with 3–5 years of leadership/operational/event management experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, project management and problem-solving skills; able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to obtain CPR certifications and work flexible schedules including weekends, nights and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversees front-line team members and ensures compliance with policies and laws.
• Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the ice arena, including ice maintenance, scheduling, and facility management.
• Oversee setup and teardown of events such as hockey games, public skating, and private rentals.
• Lead cross-functional teams and liaise with marketing and sales for events.
• Develop budgets, monitor expenses, and prepare KPI reports.
