Job summary

The Whittemore Center at the University of New Hampshire in Durham is seeking Crew & Ice Operators to support home games and ice rentals. You will operate ice resurfacing equipment and assist with daily arena operations, maintenance, and safety tasks under WCA management.

Expect 10-15 hours per week with availability for nights and weekends. Compensation ranges from $14 to $18 per hour; opportunities are posted year-round as openings arise.

Qualifications

• Experience in arena operations or operating ice resurfacing equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate ice resurfacing equipment during UNH home games and ice rentals.
• Assist with arena maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry) as needed.
• Perform ice maintenance duties as assigned.
• Ensure building and public areas are safe and accessible, including snow removal.
• Serve as point of contact or building supervisor during ice rentals or in absence of staff.
• Open and close facility as scheduled; ensure it is secured.
• Assist with event setup and breakdown in function areas.
• Light janitorial duties such as cleaning glass/boards and locker rooms.
• Follow safety rules and procedures.
