Job summary

City of Apple Valley, MN is seeking an Arena Operations Associate to assist with facility maintenance and daily arena operations. You will oversee safety, cleanliness, and guest experience, and lead seasonal staff in absence of the Arena Manager.

The role includes operating ice resurfacers, guiding events, and opening/closing duties, with shift times primarily in the late afternoon to midnight. Background check may be required and rate of pay depends on qualifications.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, sit, crouch, twist, push, pull, bend, stoop, squat and lift.
• Customer service experience.
• Ability to work weekdays, weekends, days and evenings.
• Previous driving and/or arena experience desired.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist arena personnel in maintaining the facility and operations; provide a safe, clean, and friendly environment for guests and patrons.

Responsible to assist arena personnel in maintaining the facility and operations of the Arena; provide a safe, clean, and friendly environment for guests and patrons.Direct work of others in the absence of onsite Arena Manager.Operation of ice resurfacers as well as enforcing policies and providing direction in case of emergency.Opening and closing arena.

• General building maintenance, building cleanliness, ice resurfacer operations, game operations, ice maintenance.
• Supervises and monitors activities at the arenas, including but not limited to; open skating; hockey leagues, skating lessons; and other activities held at the arena(s).
• Monitors activities throughout the facility to ensure smooth operation.
• Provides assistance as necessary to participants and spectators at the arena.
• Supervise and provide work direction to seasonal staff if needed.
• Schedules, as necessary, events to be held at the arena(s).
• Monitor and assist as needed with keeping the exterior of building clean.
• Skate sharpening when needed.
• Performs such other duties as are consistent with the tasks of the position and as may be assigned by the City

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 4:00 p.m. - Midnight at the latest and weekends 5:30 a.m. - Midnight at the latest. End time every night will depend on our rentals.
