Job summary

City of Apple Valley is seeking an Arena Operations Supervisor to maintain facility operations, safety, and a welcoming guest experience. You will support arena staff, supervise seasonal workers, and help open/close the arena during rentals.

Responsibilities include operating ice resurfacers, enforcing policies, coordinating events, assisting participants and spectators, sharpening skates, and keeping the building clean. Weekdays and weekends require flexibility and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, sit, crouch, twist, push, pull, bend, stoop, squat and lift.
• Customer service experience.
• Ability to work weekdays, weekends, days and evenings.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Job description

Responsible to assist arena personnel in maintaining the facility and operations of the Arena; provide a safe, clean, and friendly environment for guests and patrons.Direct work of others in the absence of onsite Arena Manager.Operation of ice resurfacers as well as enforcing policies and providing direction in case of emergency.Opening and closing arena.

• General building maintenance, building cleanliness, ice resurfacer operations, game operations, ice maintenance.
• Supervises and monitors activities at the arenas, including but not limited to; open skating; hockey leagues, skating lessons; and other activities held at the arena(s).
• Monitors activities throughout the facility to ensure smooth operation.
• Provides assistance as necessary to participants and spectators at the arena.
• Supervise and provide work direction to seasonal staff if needed.
• Schedules, as necessary, events to be held at the arena(s).
• Monitor and assist as needed with keeping the exterior of building clean.
• Skate sharpening when needed.
• Performs such other duties as are consistent with the tasks of the position and as may be assigned by the City

Rate of pay depending on qualifications.
