City of Columbus Parks and Recreation is seeking an Operations Manager for Hamilton Community Center & Ice Arena in Columbus, IN. The role oversees daily operations, staff supervision, and arena maintenance, including Zamboni use.

The position emphasizes HVAC/Ice Plant knowledge, strong communication, and a willingness to obtain required Ice Tech certification within three years, with a focus on safety and community programs.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Strong written/oral communication skills.
• HVAC and Ice Plant Operations knowledge preferred.
• Zamboni operation experience preferred; training will be provided.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license with good driving record.
• Certified Ice Tech required or willingness to become certified within three years.
• Experience in facility and maintenance management, and staff supervision and training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise 1 full-time and 3–5 part-time staff in daily operations.
• Operate facility equipment including the Zamboni.
• Assist in evaluating and improving management plans.
• Coordinate with Athletic Facilities Supervisor for events and programs.
• Manage safety trainings, inspections, and procedures for Athletic Facilities.
• Oversee maintenance and inventory of supplies and equipment for the arena.
• Support snow removal and outdoor maintenance as needed.
• Provide high-quality customer service and facility care.
